Germicidal linear fluorescent tubes are available in version T5 as well as T8. Used boric glass transmits 70% of ultra-violet rays, which kill the germs. Use T5 tubes only with electronic ballasts. 
Application: various sterilizers, air purifiers, water purifiers etc.
