|We are using modern amalgam technology and we reduce mercury content in our products. It is less than 2,5 mg now.
All our products are compliant with RoHS and WEEE directives. New technology uses amalgam which is a more ecological and safer alternative to liquid mercury. Since 2010, all our compact fluorescent lamps are filled amalgam and mercury content is less than 2.5 mg now. Our target for the future is to reduce the mercury content to 1.0 mg. In the near future we will also use this technology for linear fluorescent tubes. Amalgam makes, that Divetta lamps are safer in use, especially in the case of tube breaking. It also allows us to create compact lamps with higher luminance, which means that our new products are more economic and thereby more environmental-friendly. Rigorous checking of incoming materials and also applying patented automatic injection fitting ensures exact charge and it prevents the release of toxic mercury during the manufacturing process. In accordance with European Commission Regulation No.224/2009 here is the instruction, what to do, if the lamp get broken.How to deal with a broken lamp
Breakage of the lamp is the only case where a consumer can be exposed to mercury.
If this happens, follow these rules. If the lamp was broke in the fixture before removing the remnants of bulbs,
make sure you turn off the power supply, to avoid injury.
Be careful when removing splinters, sweep them if it is possible. To remove dust or small particles, that can not sweep,
use a disposable towel or sticky tape. Use vacuum cleaner only when the surface (e.g. carpet) does not allow other option.
Take out from the room fragments of the lamp and ventilate. Inhalation of mercury vapor is the main way how mercury enters the human body.
At room temperature mercury is a liquid that evaporates slowly. Evaporation is accelerated at elevated ambient temperature.
When the lamp is on and breaks, most of the mercury is in the form of vapor at this moment.
When the lamp is off and breaks, the majority of mercury attaches to the fractions and evaporates over time.
Removing fragments of fluorescent lamps, their delivering out and airing the affected area significantly reduces mercury vapor.
If you use a vacuum cleaner, and mercury fluorescent fractions evaporate over time at the point where the cleaner is stored or used.
